Take the Plunge, Ohio!

What is the Polar Plunge?
The
Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations,
and businesses to support local Special Olympics athletes by jumping or
running into the icy waters of Ohio.
This year there are nine
Plunges to choose from. If you're too chicken to make the splash, you
can still participate. Sign up as "Too Chicken to Plunge" or show your
support by making a pledge to a braver soul. Get your “License to
Chill” and take the Plunge!

January 23 – Mosquito Lake, Cortland
January 30 – Thirsty Pony, Sandusky
February 6 – Ohio/Kentucky, Newport-on-the-Levee
February 13 – Ohio University, Athens
February 20 – Crew Stadium, Columbus
February 27 – Law Enforcement Torch Run and Super Plunge, Geneva State Park
March 6 – Grand Lake St. Marys, Celina
March 13 – Watson’s Pool, Greater Dayton
March 20 - Indian Lake
Getting Started is Easy...
Step 1
Click one of the buttons above for local information. You can form a team, join or team or participate as an individual. Just follow the easy step-by-step instructions. You’re then off to collect the minimum amount of pledges.
Step 2
Next, send your friends and family emails to let them know that you’re jumping for the athletes of Special Olympics Ohio. They can join your team or send you an on-line donation.
Step 3
Sign in and pick up your incentive prizes at either a Pre-Registration Party (if offered) or at Registration on the day of the Plunge.
Step 4
Join all of the other registrants at your site and Take the Plunge!

The
Special Olympics Ohio Polar Bear Plunge is a unique opportunity for
individuals, organizations and businesses to support the more than
23,000 Special Olympics athletes in Ohio.
Individuals collect a
minimum amount of money in pledges to participate. Amount is dependent
upon Plunge location. All Plungers receive a T-shirt and goody bag.
Other incentives are: $150-$299, embroidered beach towel; $300-$499,
traveling chair with case; $500-$999, traveling cooler; $1,000 and
above, Polar Bear Plunge three-quarter zip pullover.

If you’re too chicken to Plunge, that doesn’t mean you can’t be part of
the fun. Sign up for the “Too Chicken To Plunge” non-Plunge. For $30,
you will receive a “Too Chicken To Plunge” T-shirt. Be proud. Be a
